Previews for Artist Market at Illustration Arts Fest 2018 @ LaSalle McNally Campus, Singapore (Sept 22-23)
(Above image from illustrationartsfest.org of last year's Artist Market)
One aspect of the annual Illustration Arts Fest that has never failed (at least in its past two editions) to separate me apart from my personal finances (without much effort, although admittedly with some slight sense of guilt :p), is the "Artist Market" = where artists / illustrators / creators show-n-sell their creations, in deceptively affordable stickers, postcards, posters-n-prints, comics/graphic novellas, zines, printed merch+apparel, and collectibles of all sizes and shapes - very much like "Artist Alley", but with much lesser "fanart" as opposed to "original art" via the imaginations of the artists boothing/vending their own works!
This year's ARTIST MARKET features a dazzling array of folks from Singapore and the around the Asian region (View listing here), which includes names you might recognise from this blog, including Daniel Yu, Shenly Yee (Wackymons), ZiQi Wu (Monster Little) and Sarah Isabel Tan!
Daniel has completed a successful STGCC2018 a fortnight ago, and is currently returning from a travel-trip to Moscow, and you can expect a splendid array of his originally sculpted resin collectible creations! Stay connected to his Instagram @thedanielyu for any updates!
Shenly has recently launched her Shiek & Lofing vinyl toys with Unbox in both Beijing Toy Show and in Singapore's STGCC, and will be bringing them to IAF too! So for folks who missed out, this'll be a chance to snag these from her, and more! Stay connected to Instagram @wackymons for updates.
ZiQi has been extremely active on the toy-front of late, with multiple releases of LITTLE DINO and ICE CREAM DINO with Unbox Industries!
Expect prints, paper crafts and Darumao from Sarah, and you should stay connected to her Instagram @onibi_art for updates.
Also featured here in this particular blog-post are previews of what is to be expected at the sprawling market (that engulfs the ground floor open (but sheltered) area of the LaSalle McNally Campus (How to get there), and as well a recommendation (from myself) the you can click thru to the embedded Instagram images to seek availability of what you see, if you are unable to attend the weekend event.
Organised by OIC- Organisation of Illustrators Council, the Illustration Arts Fest happens the Weekend of September 22nd thru to Sunday September 23rd, with the Artist Market opened from 11am to 6pm. Bring CASH, and bring an appetite for art! And oh yes, looking at the recent weather, being an umbrella too :p
Updates via illustrationartsfest.org, Facebook Events Page and Facebook Page.
Cheers and have a fab haul, folks!
