A TOYSREVIL Round-Up of TELEVISION Trailers & Teasers Released @ New York Comic Con 2018

Scroll thru for a selection of trailers and teasers released during the weekend's New York Comic Con 2018 (Oct 4-6), with this particular post focusing on TELEVISION SHOWS - somewhat familiar to the wheelhouse of THIS blog, and of my particular viewing preferences and recommendations, for which I am sharing with you now, my dear readers :)

Am I missing out anything else? Gimme a headsup in the comments section, thanks!

The image featured above includes the "reveal" of THE MANDALORIAN Star Wars-themed TV show (no footage besides said cough-Boba-Fettish-cough-image).

Shortly after the release of the Official Trailer for Season 3 of Marvel's DAREDEVIL on Netflix (reposted above), came a featurette showcasing yet ANOTHER villain to plague Matt Murdock and friends (see directly below para), with introducing "Agent Poindexter" AKA "BULLSEYE"!

I've also featured a 1/2 hour+ discussion of cast and show runner of "Daredevil S3" on BUILD here, of you want to get in deep(er). This video has been featured on / PopcornX.

The proliferation of "super heroes" on television has but blossomed and exploded thru recent years, which has provided a boon for other similarly fueled genre films as well, giving audiences - both fellow-geeks and the general masses - a somewhat further understanding of concepts which before folks might term "high concepts" beyond that of mortal understanding - sure Superman can fly, but he is a "alien" (technically), and Batman and Iron Man is/are but human(s) with no power besides "being rich" (very Earth-bound concepts) ... a "billionaire", but still human. But time has caught up to the masses, and fellow geeks like myself used to dwell in dream clouds of enjoying the fictional universes in comicbooks and genre shows/films beyond the printed page ... *wistful-sigh* ...

Nope, not a soapbox, but a (somewhat) happy observation, as it allows "us" a chance to relish and enjoy the geekdom - to either good or bad results. Better to have and biatch about it, than to not have any and biatch about not having any, innit? Welcome to my geek life, fhanks :)

A new TITANS trailer debuted on the Asian Netflix channel, to as well herald the coming of the DC Universe new series on the platform outside of the United States (where it is still be streamed for paid viewing). Hella excited about this series, truth be told. As much as I am a fan of the Marv Wolfman / George Perez run back in the day, I'm not too hard-up to maintain the status quo of decades back LOL

(Trailer previously posted & reposting here).

One standout for me (and the sole "animation" show featured in today's post), is the SHE-RA AND THE PRINCESSES OF POWER trailer premiered during NYCC (Along with that Action Figure Pre-order from Super7!), and the accompanying story teased., which made it "interesting" for me, beyond it's visual aesthetics. I'll know more when the series streams on Netflix from November 16th...!

Season 2 of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY returns on January 17, 2019, on CBS All Access in the U.S., and streams weekly on Netflix (Asia) 2019 January! Check out the teaser poster since featured on #iliketeevee / PopcornX. I have nothing but massive love for Season One.

Another one of my Top 10 views on screen last year (actually alongside "THE ORVILLE", who had a official trailer for season 2 released during NYCC too), which certainly entertained me to no end! And no, I am not a "Trekkie" to otherwise to state my good experience :)

Syfy revealed an extended "Just Say No" trailer and premiere date for the Russo Brothers' TV adaptation of Rick Remender's "DEADLY CLASS". I am truthfully quite intrigued by the trailer(s), not to mention the "comicbook-connection" (NO, I have not read the comic) ... will it go by way of 2014's "Vampire Academy" (I <3 you, Zoey Deutch!)? Or will be full of whimsy and animated carnage like "Assassination Classroom" (which people automatically bring up as a reference point, sadly, but understandably...)? And because, "assassins".

The age of the "anti-hero" is here to stay for the time being - which personally I do not "love" (how many effin "Joker" movies need there be FFS?) - but have to acknowledge, so get with it or be like "turd in the wind" (*cough*) ... "Deadly Class" premieres January 16, 2019 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Syfy.

I'm sneaking this in, as "technically" the trailer was unleashed a day(ish) before NYCC, but was promoted during NYCC: "CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA" - a series I am definitely looking forward to on Netflix!

The "allure" of "witches" had never been a huge selling point for me in past incarnations (I'm more of a "Vampires and Werewolves" kinda guy), but American Horror Story's "COVEN" help renewed/piqued my interests, and I am looking for something slightly sinister - as compared to seemingly wholesome works such as the rebooted "Charm" (Whom I've only watched trailers for, admittedly so). And also digging the "Addams Family" mention.

I am not HUGE on "horror", but "horror-lite" suits my sensitive disposition (heh), and this seems hella FUN!

And if I've not gushed over season one, tis only but for the lack of time in a day, for AMERICAN GODS was, and still is truly an exceptional watch and revelation, since devoured last year, and truthfully I have been gagging to re-watch the entire series, only to curb my enthusiasm, because I KNOW I will end up being miserably excited continue with Season 2, but will have to wait til (somewhen) in 2019 (!!!!)... and so I will bide my time, I shall remain patient beyond my feeble human failings, and wait until the premier is closer, for when I will YET DEVOUR SEASON ONE, leading directly to Season Two... *breathes out*

PRESS: "The end is nigh. #GoodOmens: Coming to Prime Video in 2019. Based on the best-selling novel by renowned authors Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, this series follows the story of Aziraphale, an angel, and Crowley, a demon, who have formed an unlikely friendship spanning 6,000 years and have grown fond of life on earth. However, the end of time grows near with the approaching Armageddon and they must now join forces to find a way to save the world."

A SECOND Neil Gaiman project on our TV screens? Nerd-dreams come true, dammit! Check out the poster since uploaded on #iliketeevee / PopcornX.

The first teaser for "THE BOYS": "Vought is Here For You" showcases moving visuals and somewhat a taste of the tone to come, for a project I have more opinions of than I do most other comicbook-to-media-adaptations (Read them on #iliketeevee / PopcornX). "THE BOYS" is scheduled for a 2019 release on Amazon Prime. Check out their "manifesto";

In recent years, my devourement of television (physical googlebox or online) has by far been more frequent and regular than feature films (in cinema-halls) has been, so my viewing habits have been decidedly altered based on convenience and geography, as I suspect folks around the world have too. The massive shift in entertainment and media is an unavoidable juggernaut, and I am grateful for the internets for making them available to us!

We are spoilt with binge-worthy series, and weekly doses of visual addiction that we can look forward to, amidst the duds and disappointments, where before your time put aside to xxx was decided by a push of a button, now by a click of a cursor ... channel-surfing has been electrified and upsized on the internet super-highway, innit? *PRESS PLAY*

Cheers
