The Making of "Rilakkuma and Kaoru" (Stop-Motion Series on Netflix)
Currently launched and viewable on Netflix is stop-motion series "Rilakkuma and Kaoru", Sith the first season featuring 13 episodes, each 12 minutes long, except for the finale that was 15 minutes. And while I've featured trailers, clips and TV Spots, showcased here today is the MAKING OF / BEHIND THE SCENES of the endeavour, featuring a video (English-subbed version above / Original Japanese version HERE on POPCORNX) and BTS-stills (reposting some from earlier).
WHAT-IS: "Rilakkuma and Kaoru" (リラックマとカオルさん Rirakkuma to Kaoru-san) is a 2019 stop-motion animation series created by Dwarf Studio in cooperation with San-X a Japanese stationery company known for creating and marketing cute characters such as Tarepanda, Rilakkuma, Sumikko Gurashi, and Kogepan) that premiered on Netflix on April 19, 2019.
I have had a keen interest in scaled model dioramas and stop-motion for years, and seeing these were such a delight and inspiration for me personally.
SYNOPSIS: "Her life might be a little mundane, but Kaoru gets to go home to Rilakkuma, her endearingly lazy roommate who happens to be a fuzzy toy bear."
