Rotational Casting Machine & Casting Station with Sofubi-Man from Max Toy Co
If this is the first time you are finding out about/reading this, know that these are not your "typical" toy release(s). There is literally no one else producing this in the art toy world (that I know of anyways) - with this figure sets essentially a meta manifestation of a diorama of toy-makers who make sofubi toys.
@maxtoyco had a new addition to their Sofubi-Man series, with a new "special set" featuring a brand new piece of equipment! A 3D printed and hand painted "Rotational Casting Machine", to assist in the Sofubi-Man in "producing sofubi"!
MAXTOYCO PRESS: "How's Sofubi-man gonna cast his Kaiju figures without a rotational machine ?! I've always wanted to do this project and thanks to fellow Artist Javier Jimenez and Digital sculptor Andrea Calleja, we present the Sofubi Rotational machine!
Used to take the airbubbles out of the soft vinyl in the molds, this scaled replica has removable molds (with tiny Max Boy and Captain Maxx heads!) and you can turn the molds around with your finger!"
MAXTOYCO PRESS: "This set includes one, hand painted rotational machine and painted Sofubi-man. 3D printed and cast by Javier, with paints by Mark Nagata. Each is unique and hand done. To be honest, it's not cheap to print these stations and required a lot of sanding work from Javier. But, I think you will like the result! Aprox 3.5 inches tall by 3 inches round. Please note, NO envelope shipping, only via BOX."
The first edition was available as a "SET" including hand-painted Sofubi-Man and "Rotational Casting Machine", priced at US$160.00, has since been SOLD OUT at time of this blogpost (Members of Max Toy Club had first dibs :p). Max Toy had mentioned that they will have "loose machines" in the near future.
What is available right now is the previous seen 3D printed and hand-painted "Casting Station", available here for US$95.
"How's Sofubi-man gonna cast his Kaiju figures without a casting station? Sized (approx) 4 inches long x 2 inches wide x 3 inches tall, these are 3d-printed and hand-painted."
