the death of captain america

reading/finding out about the "Death of Captain America" in the local newspaper only yesterday, led me to one single thought: "dammit i gotta remind my regular comicshop to reserve my copy!" - for which i promptly sms-ed my request, and rushed down to the shop right after afternoon-classes ... and of coz i was told it was sold out nevertheless...

now, i'm not angry "they" killed Cap = becoz i KNOW this is all a big publicity stunt, and quite a good one at that, so much so real-world news-agencies across the globe had covered this "event" [CNN], to parallel the situation in the comics - bravo for "them", innit? ... the downside of it all (to readers/fans like me) "non-regulars" will pick it up, either for curiosity, novelty or aftermarket sales - which leaves guys like me high and dripdry, regular-comics-reserve-list be damned, gawddamit! >:@

but thank the four-color-comic-gawds i got/had Civil War: The Initiative #1 [wiki] where there's a few pages preview of Captain America #25 - where Cap gets sniper-shot [see preceding pages @ popcultureshock] and another interlude where Carol Danvers (Ms Marvel) reveals to Jessica Drew (Spiderwoman) that altho Cap was shot, he is still alive ... so there ...

so we'll see if Bucky/Winer Soldier takes up the Shield, yeh? *hhhhmmm?*
