Kingdom Come Xtra "Sketchboard Cards" (1996 SkyBox)
UPDATED: Available now at Miku Market!
"Kingdom Come Xtra" is a 50-card (basic) trading card set released by Skybox in 1996, in what is known as a "wide vision" format.
The T/C series is based off the "Kingdom Come" 4-issue comicbooks published in 1996 by DC Comics under their Elseworlds imprint.
The story is set in an alternate future of the DC Universe (hence you see the character designs' costumes slightly different from the "usual"), written by Mark Waid and painted by Alex Ross.
The 50-card set features panel artwork from the comicbook pages (see sample below). But this blogpost is not about the base cards...
The cards shown here day is apart of the "Sketchboard Cards" (which comes 1-per-pack), totally 15 cards to be had (Complete list here, cheers), featuring the (un-inked) art of Alex Ross!
And while the whites of the card has since aged yellow-ish, the art remains magnificent, especially evocative on the textured card-stock, IMHO.
These will be made available as singles/loose at Miku Market, via the TOYSREVIL-table, cheers.
Address: 02-09, Queensway Shopping Centre.
Open 12noon-6pm every weekend (Sat&Sun).
