Po Yun Wang & The Not-So-Temple 不太庙 Exhibition @ BLAXK
BLAXK at ActionCity is plating host to Taiwan-based artist poyunwang @poyun_wang's solo show "The Not-So-Temple" exhibition, opening to the public on Saturday October 11th, with therapist himself in attendance for a Signing Session from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

"Not-So-Temple, or 不太庙 in Mandarin, plays on a clever pun depicting a situation that is less than ideal. In Not-So-Temple, we leave behind the stiff, solemn image of the divine. Here, even deities get bummed listening to endless wishes and desperate pleas day after day, caught in a loop that never seems to end. This is an intimate solo exhibition by Poyunwang where sacred, untouchable figures collide with the mundane moments of everyday life – beyond the tongue-in-cheek satire fashion, it’s a playful challenge to the rules we take for granted."
Acclaimed Taiwan-based illustrator & character artist poyunwang @poyun_wang is best known for his signature cheeky and rebellious touch turning 'untouchable' subjects into unapologetic characters caught with mundane ‘unglam’ behaviour including nose-picking or eye-rolling. Far from just depicting just deities and mythology, his creative universe spans across parodies from various IP worlds with playful vinyl figures, offbeat character worlds, and the calming floral paintings he creates to unwind.
For Poyunwang, “Why not?” is more than a question—it’s the rule. Come meet the artist, explore his 不太庙 world in this exhibition, and encounter familiar mythical characters and deities that have never been so relatable before!
