GODZILLA DAY 2025



November 3rd is designated "Godzilla Day", and its beyond a Hollywood-borne commercial event (cough-Alien Day, Star Wars Day-cough), this day is celebrated as well in Japan, with a "Godzilla Fest" too! Not wanting to be left out (as I usually am), featured here is a collection of GODZILLA-themed things and happenings to help celebrate the occasion!

One key cinematic announcement is for the movie title for the sequel of 2023's GODZILLA MINUS ONE, with "GODZILLA MINUS ZERO coming in 2026! godzilla-minuszero.toho-movie.jp)



According to hollywoodreporter.com, the Takashi Yamazaki-doirected "Godzilla Minus Zero" will showcase a "darker, more expansive monster mythoscape" and "is being positioned not just as a sequel but as a statement piece." A (tentative) "late-2026 global release" has been planned by Toho.




And what is just as "interesting" thus far, is seeing folks' interpretations of the film's logo, since "evolved" from the 2023's ...!

From "watching" to "collecting": Announced for timed-preorder is the Platinum 70th Anniversary Godzilla Chomp by Tom Whalen with Abominable Toys! And you have 48-hours to do so on abominabletoys.com, with sales ending at 5:00pm EST 2:00pm PST on November 4th. Each figure is individually numbered. Estimated ship date is April 2026.



This is not the first officially licensed VINYL collectible figure to be released with @strongstuff, with Godzilla, Mechagodzilla and Mothra! And oh what a toy-shelf that'll make!



"Chomp" is co-created by @connorjmcconnell and @bensuart, with Godzilla's box art created by Tom Whalen and @seanlarkreece.

Finally with a "sales pitch" for my hand-collated non-sport hobby trading card series for 1998 Hollywood feature film "GODZILLA" - in wide vision / over-sized format! Basic set counts 72 cards, based on images and behind-the-scenes of this Roland Emmerich directed and co-written by Hollywood feature film, which I managed to catch on the telly none too long ago, and honestly was not as "bad" as I had remembered it to be. Imbuded with all it's Hollywood-isms, and a bipedal-lizard interpretation of a Japanese classic folks have grown up with, I reckon it has withstood the test of time, but can understand if it's not "everyone's cuppa tea"... LOL
