SPAWN Trading Card Set (Inkworks 1997)

The "SPAWN" live-action feature film was released in 1997, with Todd McFarlane's fictional character "Al Simmons" played by Michael Jai White, in a by-now-classic comicbook-adaptation that folks do not talk much about, or rather compares it unfavourably to the "Spawn: The Animated Series" aired on HBO instead.

The film was adapted into a 72 basic trading card set published by Inkworks, and featured below is a sped-up time-lapsed cardflip of the hand-collated set, to be restocked via TOYSREVIL at Miku Market, available from this weekend!

Miku Market @ 02-09, Queensway Shopping Centre.
Opens 12noon to 6pm every Saturdays & Sundays!

Since it's inception as a comicbook character published by Image Comics in 1992 (*I remembered trying to hawk off Issue #1 at Sunday flea market :p), we are still awaiting the next live-action feature film (apparently now being "produced by Blumhouse")... so until that cinematic reality moves forward, we still have THIS movie to remember by :)

SYNOPSIS: An elite mercenary is killed, but comes back from Hell as a reluctant soldier of the Devil.
Directed by Mark A.Z. Dippé, with the Director of Photography being Guillermo Navarro (2006's "Pan's Labyrinth", 1992's "Cronos"). The 1 hour 36minuter film also starred John Leguizamo (as The "Clown / Violator") and Martin Sheen as the big bad "Jason Wynn". At the end of the day, I did not keep a DVD of it, so that's saying something ... :p
