"Brothersworker" had a huge impact on my toylife when I discovered them while collecting 1/6th in the early 2000s, where I had been enamoured with first by the aesthetics, then the sheer detailing that had gone into the completion and presentation of each of their character releases.
Early into my 1/6th hobby, I had morphed very quickly to "streetwear" or essentially non-military themes, while at the same time discovered Michael Lau and Eric So's 1/6, which in turned led me down the path of "urban vinyl" and the particular predicament you see me in now LOL
I had changed from being an INterior Designer in the mid-90s to designing for television, and at that point in time I was neck deep into film and television production and design, so that aespect of "design" and art was an extension of my work and passion too.
Brothersfree characters dance effortlessly between that divide. Showcasing the "working man" spirit (in life of free-style street wear) with the visuals that bridged "reality" and "designer-life", not to mention the accessories (*I have a weakness for miniature "everyday props").
And just as importantly, they showcased a variety of chatacters with differeing likeness and body forms, very much dofferent from your display shelfed releases of all smae-height and similar sized figures, while mantaining a siungular identity style.
The resulting sets many of which had passed thru my hands for the duration of my active collecting days! But alas I was too cheap to secure ANY of their releases (*Although I very happily received a Baby War-Correspondent figure on my birthday decades back, my prized possession), but have constantly desired their works, even as each creator branched into their own spaces, the memories are forever etched within my psyche.
Fast forward 25 years, and this too marks a milestone in my memories of the toy-hobby, as it must have been for their achievements in toy culture, IMHO.
Happy 25th Anniversary, Brothersfree!
