Tuesday-Toy-Review: Goodies From Recycle Experience
I've blogged about Indonesian / Bandung-based artists/designers Recycle Experience before (having feature their solo show at Lou Bell Shop in Bandung titled "My Secret Garden"), so it was a much pleasant occasion to meet and greet the dynamic-duo of cool-cat Evan Driyananda and ingenue Attina Nuraini in person, at 2010's Munny World Festival Indonesia. REEXP was also the special invited artists for the event by Plastic Culture, and held their own (alongside TellThemWorks) at an autograph cum on-the-spot customizing session! (Viewable here).
REXEP had presented me with a surprising cloth tote bag of goodies, of their wares - featuring plush robot, accessory, and pin packs (all available online here) - which I would like to share with you folks HERE :)
I personally like it when folks / artists "brand" their own stuff. Nothing speaks more than finding out where that item came from in the first place, regardless "good", or "bad". In the internet age, a simple product moves ever wider, if it has a URL destination, or even a name / brand for folks to google for, IMHO.
They are also one of the very few artists I have seen (from the Eastern part of the world) utilizing printed "tags" for their products. Good call, and worthwhile investment, rather than just slapping a product in a plastic bag with header just because it is "hip" to hahahaha
