fresh-off Superhero Hype, comes the announcement of Superman Returns - Barbie Dolls?
"Now there's a Lois Lane "Barbie" doll due to be released in December, and she'll be joined by a Superman "Ken" doll. Both come in packaging featuring the "Superman Returns" artwork, including a picture of Brandon Routh as Superman. Both dolls also come with a "Superman Returns" poster inside. Note: Images shown are preliminary product designs. Final product may differ slightly."
i reckon this'll appeal to barbie-collectors more than the fanboys, perhaps? personally, i'd only get them (at least Supe's) if i could kitbash them with me own 12"-action figures, innit? *MUAHAHAHAHA* ... the raised-chest-emblem being a "buying-plus" at this point in time tho ... *hhhhmmmm*
all of which leaves me wondering: "what other toys are gonna appear; when the movie premieres in 2006?" ... 'coz "traditionally", toyshops get stocked with merchandize way before the films hit the silver screens, *and by which sorta spoils whatever surprises the movie has to offer in the first place, innit? IMHO* (far be it for me to complain :p) ~ regardless, we (toy collectors) can only but hope they dun come out nasty or just-plain-wronglike the way "hasblow" screwsup their star wars 1/6th figures :p
a figure to/of note:
having "cradled" the Deluxe 13" Superman figure up close and personal last week, got me in a state of pause (if only but for a moment) before i decided i should focus on 1/6th; as opposed to this 13"-goliath (which includes a full-on-Clark Kent-disguise = great accessories btw *dammit* why couldn't they do a 12-incher instead? *URGH*) ... and as i put the box down grudgingly and left the shop fastfor fear of impulse buying, knowing that i'm due to return in a coupla days' time to pick-up my weekly comics-fix ... so we'll see what happens then. *heh* :p
*superman toys are your friends lah*
