fearless end
:: MOVIES ::
"Fearless is the story of Fok Yuen-gap (Huo Yuan-jia), a national hero in China and master arts master at the beginning of the 20th century, who early on experiences the dark, vengeful side of wushu. He eventually rises to embrace its more positive side by taking on some of the world's greatest fighters in a sporting competition that takes place at a time when a distressed China is being encroached upon by foreign powers." soundsbasically like orientals beating down on oppressive caucasian dudes yummy already!
*heh*
check out the official movie website for Jet Li's new martial arts flick (which happens to be his last as well, which is a bummer coz he's much better in those than the dismal "modern offerings" he's had the bad fortune to be involved in, IMHO anyways), FEARLESS, which features the reportedly US$1 million dollar trailer (doubt if the "teaser" featured on the webbie is it tho :p) ... or maybe ya could check out the Japanese Version Trailer here (WMP) or the Cantonese / HK Version Trailer here (WMP), and finally the English language Version (on Taiwan Yahoo!) Trailer here (which also includes 2 behind-the-scenes featurettes!).
now, i've always been a fan of Jet's Once Upon A Time In China series and attribute it to one of the better martial arts trilogies out there (even before trilogies became the norm for blockbusters, innit?) which showcased relatively "truer" martial arts (basic forms, anyways), as opposed to the glamorized-kick-stunts of the Matrix-era (we all wallow and enjoy in) that is predominant and has become the pre-requisite in action-flicks nowsadays ~ which is a real pity, IMHO ... and Jet Li will always be "Wong Fei Hung" to me, regardless of who he's playing here in Fearless ... and with this being his last martial arts flick? am sure gonna haveta catch this! *heh*
