flying cat designers
:: TOYS / WEB ::
is it just me/my Mac or is the spanking new Flying-Cat website [via strangeco] - flickering like crazy? ... anyways, trying to navigate thru the flicker (which has since given me a bad headache) had revealed some interesting new vinyls+toys (well, new to "me" lah :p) and here are some personal-picks:
from UK comes Jon Burgerman's deformed cuties and plush.
< Taiwanese comic-artist PUSH, with his robo-ish-comic-influenced vinyls. (have seen and admired his illos in MILK magazine on many an occassion) *heh*
< also from Taiwan comes Jason Yang, with his silver/black-vinyl duo of "See-All-Eyes" and "Hear-All-Ears" and his (IMHO) Gatchaman-influenced- "Banana Island Asylum"-figs.
< Curtis Jobling's "Biteneck Beatniks"-series is mighty intriguing, much less coz tis "beatnik" (personal *like*) and of vampires! *cool*
< from down-under, we have Lucas Temby of Cupco (whom i featured a bit back - and tis Australia and NOT Japan???) and his plushes, which pushes beyond the "cute" and into fantasy-realms of quirkiness and pop-culture (yes, i am pulling it all out of my a$$ here *BAH*) :p
and ima waiting on for (retro-robot?) toys from GhostBot ... and do i see local-boy Jahan on the designers' list? *cool*
