shultzo's compatiballs

i first noticed these intriguing
mirror-design-ish x interlocking
vinyl creatures in the recent NYCC,
on Vinyl Pulse [event image via -
sorry don't know the gentleman
so can't comment :p] and then again
just on Pixie [animation links via] ...
... but what are these CompatiBalls?
*find out after the jump*
these 5"-er tall CompatiBalls are co-produced by both Shultzo and Toy Tokyo, with the first run limited to 500 FrogiBalls and TigerBalls each, with a planned end-May/June drop.

designed by Shultzo, each CompatiBall-set will have two colorways each, for TigerBall tis the Regular/Natural and the Red/White colorway (as it appears in the animation). the FrogiBall will appear in Regular Green and the Yellow variant.

more CompatiBall-designs are in the works for the future, meanwhile peep the animations (and virtual "mechanics of interlocking compatiballs" ) for both TigerBall and FrogiBall

personally, i find the concept really cool and refreshing, becoz for me, it suddenly transcends beyond a mere vinyl art toy (who are frankly more know for looking cool and for just sitting/standing on the toyshelves) and embodies the spirit of a "toy", whereby the owner/participant actually has to hold and interact with it, to make it "work", IMHO = *coolness*
(cheers for the info, Shultzo!)
