ultraman gashapons by touma x bandai
from Bandai comes a new series of gashapon figures ("capsule toys") featuring TOUMA's take on Ultraman - with the entire series consisting of 14-figures out of 5 designs - including Ultraman with 2 color variants, while Red King, Gomora, Baltan and Gyango each with 3 color-variants. standing between 8-9cm tall, each figure would require "minor assembly" (ie. they would initially come in separate pieces within a plastic-capsule container)priced at 300YEN-per figure (US$3) - for a mid-March/April-drop ... and the main reason why this particular gashapon-series gets a blog-mention, is becoz of Touma, innit? and of coz his signature designs on the creatures, which looks nifty, compared to Ultraman, who looks a tad uncomfortable with his body torso proportioned against his knucklebear-ish arms, IMHO. but hey, if Touma floats your boat, this series looks to be more affordable even for the casual collector (altho you may haveta "fight" for it with the hardcore-collectors, yeh? LOL)
