With the new FAT WEST JACKET-image, Michael Lau is definitely threading down Stanley Kubrick's celluloid-pathway [wiki] - with this obvious Full Metal Jacket-influence, and the previously featured Clockwork Orange and 2001: A Space Odyssey-themes (with the exception of 049Jordan). "Pre-determined" or "Design Evolution"? What is/was going thru ML's design-thought-processes? = These are the questions which intrigue me personally - which I hope to one day find an answer for...
Regardless, a subtle pop-culture paradigm-shift is afoot, an evolution-shimmy beyond his urban-roots towards a combination of classic cinematic nostalgia and the disposable-cult of designer vinyl = a powerful combo indeed, IMHO.
