Inglourious Basterds: Aldo Raine in 1/6
I remember a wistful time; an age of hobby-innocence not so distant in the glorious past ~ where 1/6th-scaled figure-producers used to do headsculpts featuring the likeness of Hollywood actors for their releases; that always are a tad "off"? Not possessing 100% of the likeness of whomever they were obviously (not) supposed to be based on? Yes, Dragon Models (DML), BBI and even Hot Toys (before their current movie-licensing explosion) .. all of which I had speculated was due to not wanting to be sued for said likeness, in the first place. These days, we (the collectors) have been spoilt with the incredible work of artists and sculptors, haven't we? Million-dollar paycheck-actors in the palm of our hands!
Then this above rendition of Brad Pitt (or "likeness" thereof) from Quentin Tarantino's WW2 feature film Inglourious Basterds by CyberHobby dubbed "Lieutenant Aldoe Katz" (name-alteration is key ;p) sorta brought all the memories flooding back in ... heh ... And if this Hot Toy ad shown-below is legit, we may yet be "spoilt" by a movie-accurate version of "Aldo Raine", innit?
