Living The TOYSREVIL Lifestyle (Feb/18/2011)
German-based artist dust worked together recently with bag-brand EASTPAK, and made a debut at the recent Bread & Butter Berlin 2011 event (having previously been a part of the gallery show Eastpak Artist Series), with the theme being "STYLE NEEDS NO COLOR". Enjoy the video :)
"Stance is a DIY designer toy for sneaker collectors, designers, artists, or anyone with some creative energy to burn." ~Created by Delroy Dennisur, the project is currently on sale for a US$25 pre-order on Kickstarter. Delroy adds: "Imagine Dunny meets sneaker culture."
"Interesting" as it is not shaped particularly as a "sneaker", but looking more "dress shoe". Would be fun to see how folks choose to interoperate that tho.
Introducing the official website for the new Spider-Man big-screen "reboot" officially named "The Amazing Spider-Man" (yes, there seems to be a hyphen) @ http://www.TheAmazingSpiderMan-movie.com/, featuring a jazzed-up snap of the web-shooter above (*THWIRP* added by myself ;p), and speaking of "web-shooters", seems the mutant arachniac will be utilizing mechanical ones in this movie? (Forgot where I read that news-nugget tho). No teasers nor trailers as yet, but seems the behind-the-scenes sneaky-snaps by a variety of sources sees a spandax-clad stuntman running around jumping on cars and robbers. No I will not post them here, as I realize they may well put a dent on expectations on the upcoming movie, and we KNOW how color-corrections in post makes tinges a whole lot better, don't they? (I remain in hope). There's also the Spiderman movie Facebook page for info as well future grabbing of movie stills, if need be. Produced by Columbia Pictures, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN premieres in theaters July 3rd, 2012.

Besides the WWR Grunt toy drop happening Feb 16th, what grabbed my eyeballs was the sketch by Leonard Brizuela, featuring the fellas grabbing cold ones and having a chill pill. This needs to be reprinted and sold somehow (just like his sketch gifted for TOYSREVIL while I was hospitalized ;p).
Yet another trailer for GANTZ the live-action movie (first trailer here) - although I've not read the manga, I am keen to watch this flick (btw: anyone seen it has any idea if it is close to the manga?). Am interested to know if anyone has picked up the license (if any) to adapt toys for the series tho. The character design is begging to be done as toys / action figures (ala Appleseed from Hot Toys), aren't they?
WHAT: The visual arts and design community in Singapore will get a boost in the form of the new e-commerce website and design community 9fountains.com. With the aim of elevating design and promoting designers in Singapore and the region, 9 Fountains prints original artwork by Asia-based designers onto T-shirts, which are sold internationally through the website.
All artists are invited to submit their artwork, which are subjected to a monthly online voting process open to the public. Submissions garnering the highest number of votes are then selected for print onto t-shirts. Designers of winning submissions are awarded an up-front cash prize, a commission for each shirt sold as well as full credit for their work.
Here's a sneak-peek at the designs from local / Singapore artists (known as the 9 Fountains Founding 15), as well International artists are welcomed to join in the fun. Check out details on the website via http://www.9fountains.com.

The existence of this "sneak" of the external main entrance to "Arkham" has it linked to a set from the third Batman movie, uninspiringly titled" "The Dark Knight Rises" (courtesy of io9.com) which springs to mind a myriad of thoughts, chief of which is that this might be the reason than a slew of folks have been casted (or rumored to have been) for the film, including Anne Hathaway as "Selina Kyle" (aka Catwoman? Seriously?). Someone asleep me to trust in Chris Nolan, to which I answered; "I respect the guy. I do not trust him still." (Or some derivation of, somewhat less fancy, on tweeter and within 140 characters). Am trying very hard not to think of Nolan's excellent INCEPTION tho, but it would be nice to finally see the celluloid minds of the super-powered and criminally insane folks of Arkham Asylum, accurately depicted on the silver screen!
From "intense speculation" to "printed fact" ~ Entertainment Weekly has on the cover of their Feb 25th issue Brit-actor Henry Cavill, who will star was "Clark Kent" aka SUPERMAN, in the new reboot-movie directed by Zack Snyder. Yes, we are all pretty quick to forget Bryan Singer's version (sorry Brandon!). Nevertheless, the new ish covers the new guys in spandex (or "superhero suits") Green Lantern, Spider-Man and The Dark Knight!
“He walked out and no one laughed,” says director Zack Snyder, in reference to Henry trying on the Supoerman suit ~ “Other actors put that suit on and it’s a joke, even if they’re great actors. Henry put it on, and he exuded this kind of crazy-calm confidence that just made me go, ‘Wow. Okay, this is Superman.’ ”

Thor got tazered! ahahahahaha And I love that Thor does actually speak his native tongue amidst the mortals, and should like an mentally-challenged man. now THIS I like! THis has been the 2nd official trailer for the upcoming THOR movie ~ Forsooth!
Interestingly montaged and mixed fan-made trailer for the big-screen Avengers movie (to be directed by Joss Whedon). Gnarly-nice, methinks! (First posted on Valentine's Day on my Facebook Public Page :)
