Triad Toys @ New York Toy Fair 2011

TRIAD-TOYS-NYTF-01

While I strangely no longer receive news from US-based boutique toy-makers of 1/6th-scale action figures, Triad Toys, their showing at the curent New York Toy Fair @ Jacob Javitts Center raises eyebrows, as well as induces a diminutive smile on my 1/6-loving face. Pretty exciting is their Bentenrai Brothers trio of "Masters of Death" figures from the "Lone Wolf and Cub" series, which got my eyebrows raised and smiles aplenty! (Yes, they look like the brothers from "Big Trouble In Little China" LOL) Sporting mixed weaponary, this may well be the best looking period trio that has been produced, IMHO (and of course, there's nothing better than "old skool").

Other licensed figures include Abigail Van Helsing (from Dead Cell) and as well a showing of both "Ghost" and "Barb Wire" from Dark Comics of yore (now that's a memory-blast!). From their one license comes "Riza" from "Tenion Wars" (which is always cool when you produce your own product line). As well there's a new product line dubbed: "Legends" featuring a japanese ninja "Jubei", as well as a Greek-ish warrior named "Jason". I am unfamiliar with the line and have not googled for it. Nice dio with Jason tho (Argonauts, perhaps?). Known for extremely beauteous female face-sculpts in the past (utilizing faces such as Winter), seems the ladies of Triad Toys has gotten more … "character" now, aren't they? :)
