Living The TOYSREVIL Lifestyle (Mar/4/2011)
Even before I had an inkling of a sick-man's chance to watch the movie, the animated series zooms effortlessly by me ~ witness the trailer for the TRON UPRISING Animated Series to come from Disney! Featuring the voice of Bruce Boxleitner as Tron himself, the story is set between the original 80's cult movie Tron and before Tron: Legacy. [via SlashFilm] Sound ways more interesting that the plans for a remixed album of Daft Punk tracks for Tron Legacy, to be dubbed: R3CONFIGUR3D. Contributors include he Glitch Mob, M83 vs. Big BlackDelta, The Crystal Method, Mobdy, The Japanese Popstars and more. Stretching the mighty dollar it seems, and you can partake of the release on April 5th on http://tronsoundtrack.com/[via HypeBeast]
Now, wouldn't this make an awesome product? (Of course I am biased, what with my blog-logo smack-dab on the carriage, innit?). But of course Phil from TyoToys be yanking my chain, and you can indeed purchase this fine 36" x 24" laminated cube truck print online here for US$15. And you can see from the link that the truck comes "blank", for your joyous self-bombing of said printed vehicle.
FYI: Said Print comes in 4 separate parts to join, just so you know.
Mugo has just come out with a new artist template where your contributing designs can be a part of their upcoming 'Discover Series' ~ where your design might be in the next production series. Download the full-fledged template at www.mugoplayer.com

Not a spectacular huge fan of Lady Gaga, never have been and unfortunately tis hard to convince me otherwise, but she gets to make epic music videos, so what the heck do I know anyways? "Born This Way" featuring Lady Gaga in shiny bra and panties. [Via] This video looke vaguley and weirdly like it is done with toy figurines (complete with dioramas) hence it is here, at the very least to challenge anyone to make one with toys instead! muahahahahaha
The latest issue of Empire magazine features Optimus Prime from Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, alongside "his big brother and mentor" SENTINEL PRIME! (Yes, you did see his face on the moon in the first teaser). MTV blogged it, TFW2005 posted the page scans, and I swiped them :p
DreamWorks releases Megamind on Blu-ray and DVD (never did catch the movie tho), and as well newly set-up DreamWorks Animation Fine Art [www] releases the "Megamind" limited-edition fine art products you see here ~ directly specifically to collectors, film enthusiasts and animation buffs. A very interesting series geared towards the higher-income crowd, with as well exceptional products, IMHO. The Kung Fu Panda line listed on the website is exceptional cool too!
First we saw Fakir's custom-NedZed, now peep his illustration of Totoro (dubbed: "TATTOOTORO A PANAM"), chilling by the bus stop with a stogie and a drunk friend. Chillingly nice. Would love to see more mashups like this tho :)
2011 Japan Tour Poster art for The Mevins by Junko Mizuno spotted on Secret Serpents Facebook. As well shown here are behind-the-scenes sketches to the final product, which Junko constantly tweets, so that is really cool, IMHO.
[SS tweetered, I blogged]
Allen Wen aka artist AW177 is jazzed to be featured on Computer Arts Projects Issue #145 and shares with us his joy, along with a page snap (shown above).
Allen added: "I have been featured in the Showcase section of Computer Arts Projects Japanese design issue, #145, released in the UK on December 30, but in the USA on January 30. I'm really happy to be featured and consider it quite an honor, as I have been reading the magazine for years and admire what they do and all the artists they showcase. Also, I don't see too many toy customizers/artists featured in the magazine, so it's truly a dream come true for me. They also included some of my artwork on the enclosed CD-ROM, so it gives people a chance to see what else I can do."
In serious reality, folks might be jazzed about having their work featured on online news websites and blogs, but that is nothing compared to having their work in print. Magazines or toy-books are the simply definition of works being recognized enough and fit to be printed. And being printed seems "gold". But hey, that's my conjunction and you are fit to feel different from me :p
Shown above is Jeffrey Lamm x Monster Worships' GREASEBAT and The Taratulas' Real x Nibbler in the Hyper Hobby Japanese magazine, and that's pretty darn cool, innit?
While the online world seem fixated with behind-the-scenes snaps of Andre Garfield in The Amazing Spider-Man (of course I exaggerate), I am more interested in his Spidey-sneaks instead! Will someone be releasing these in production anytime anywhere?
