Next Week is *1/6-Hobby Week* on TOYSREVIL!
From April 18th thru to April 24th - the TOYSREVL-blog is celebrating the 1/6th-scale world with *1/6-Hobby Week* - where we have lined-up all kinds of hobby-fied happenings in the 1/6-realms - including toy reviews, a series of dedicated-articles (aka my toy-past ramblings ;p), and even a series of individuals featured in "Plastic Crack Addicts"! As well we have an interview with a toy-creator, whose 1/6-project shook the blog when it was featured some years ago. I've always been a 1/6-lover at heart, and this is a long-time coming :)
Yes, other toy news will happen still - but we've created THIS handy-label/tag for you to keep track of the blog-festivities, to help you in your enjoyment of the hobby! So remember to keep it here on TOYSREVIL!
TOY-GLOSSARY:
01. When we mention "1/6" or "1:6" - it literally means a scaled-ration "one is to six", with 1/6 generally meaning the size of a figure or accessory being 1/6th of an actual human scale (loads of times you might see "1:6" for collectible motorbikes or even remote controlled cars). So a 1/6 figure essentially stands 12-inches tall, which we also term "12" Figure".
Scaled hobbies include scales like 1:18 (miniature tanks, ships etc), or some remote controlled vehicles are 1:4. When someone mentions "1:1" or "1/1" - most times it means life-sized, or actual "human scale".
02. We used to call 1/6-scale collecting like unto a "drug" and addiction, where the plastic man-dollies and parts are like unto "Plastic Crack" - hence the "addiction to plastic" affliction. We are still opened to receive more "addicts" and your toy-submissions, so do feel free to contact me via toysreviler [at] gmail.com, or Facebook me!
