Kikeimono - Seen @ STGCC 2011
My sister Cindy was obviously pretty much smitten by the work of kikeimono at Artist Alley in Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention 2011 [www / Tagged] - who featured custom plushies created and hand-made by Gladys Phan. With characters ranging from "Munchy Monsters" to "Socks" (made from actual socks), she even had a commissioned plush of the monster above - from Edward of ToysETC (of his blog mascot - seen dry-humping on the top-right corner of his menu muahahaha). Delicately niched between Japanese cerebral-aesthetics and with a tinge of European charm, this is an interested venture not wholly wedged within a personal manifestation (although via conversations, it tends to be), and an obvious passion for the craft. Folks interested in commissions can contact hello [at] kikeimono.com.
Supported by the swell illustrations of her husband Alvan Toh, the world of Kikeimono blossoms beyond more 'arts-n-craft'. Here's hoping we'll get to see more from Kikeimono soon. More images on my Facebook album HERE.
