MaxToyCo-Monday: Toy Review of Eyezon (Mini Kaiju Series) from Max Toy Co
TOY-STORY: Each Max Toy Mini Kaiju Series Kaiju Eyezon painted figure is hand cast in Japan by Master Shimizu-san and hand painted by Master Goto-san. Standing 4 inches tall, and sculpted by Makino-san (TTToy) - he is available here on MaxToyCo.com for US$25 each (san shipping).
Eyezon Articulation Demo Video:
Single point of articulation at the hips, this figurine is finished in what I term "Vanilla with Blueberry" - or essentially a pearlescant base with silver highlights and a turquoise tinge.
I really tried to like Eyezon. I really did. And while I adore it's diminutive mini-kaiju sculpt, it was a struggle to 'love' this paint-scheme. But perhaps I had been 'spoilt' by the Dragazon-colors, and this paled in comparison in terms of "eye-candy-color-popping", but you know what? As a stand-alone sculpt, this is the cutest of monsters in the Mini Kaiju Series (Lady Maxx not withstanding *cough*)
The 'bonus' of the package came in the form of a small fold-out catalog of Max Toy Co products! It reminded me loads of the catalogs of yesteryear that came with individual figurines - like Mirconauts, Playmobils and other toys of memories' past. Really nice touch and the accordian-foldout style was well appreciated.
