TOYS @ Singapore Toy Games and Comic Convention 2011
A huge part of the Comic-Con-experience - at least here in Singapore - is about the "buying experience". And as much as Singaporeans are innately trained to look for (and even patiently wait for) "bargains" and discounts, so do we welcomed "Special Editions" made specifically for the event (I dare say), because nothing makes "us" feel more special, than a limited edition item we can call our "own" (or a 'discounted score' we can boast over). This year, at the very least, we have ONE item we can boost about (thanks Ozzo and Andrew Bell!) and here is a select list of TOYS to look out for at the coming Singapore Toy Games and Comic Convention 2011!
Andrew Bell @ Booth G26
Expect to see the exciting limited edition Red O-No-Sashimi [announced HERE] and as well his recognizable Android toy series! TOYSREVIL are currently doing a Giveaway Contest for his Summer Androids, so yes, they will be also available at G26! Helmed by the good folks at Ozzo Collection, expect loads of Andrew Bell merch!
coarse @ Booth G15/G17
This is an exceptional "surprise" to me - having the presence of coarse at STGCC. And while nothing has been announced in lieu of their presence (in terms of toys or colorways) I hope to see what they have in-store.
[Shown above are oop loser - signature edition and false friends in pain]
Coincidentally, coarse was to have been my "neighbor" when I had a booth in 2009 (I would have been in-between coarse and Camilla D'Errico's booths) but they did not turn up and I gained an "extra entrance" ~ heh.
Otaku House @ Booth C10
Otaku House is the main distributor for Toy2R in Singapore, and they will be debuting Domo Qee Series 3 and Skelanimal Qees at "discounted prices" (wonder if it includes both Series One and Series 2 tho), as well debut Momiji Dolls.
Singapore Post Limited @ Booth C2
Chief of their offerings (no doubt to me anyways :p) is the release of their Tokidoki Mystamp Figurine Set - featuring Cody & Zip in 3D-form! Priced at SGD$49.90 (also available online via shop.vpost.com.sg). Click on above-image to see my earlier feature.
Dooodolls Vinyl Figurines & Plush @ Booth F29
Malaysian producers Dooodolls debut and launch their collectible vinyl figure series, as well their latest Gweeen plush in both 12" and 24" versions. Dooodolls are well known for their plushies, so having vinyl figurines in their portfolio is a treat.
Dweey Viny Toy @ Booth G30
From Malaysia comes Dweey the vinyl figure that splits apart at the waist and held together with magnets [Dweey.com]. The producers have been touting at the DIY (Do-it-Yourself) version for a long while now, and we have even made a slideshow video of it too, in the "early days", that is.
Bloody Bunny Limited Vinyl @ Booth E24
Thailand-based character studio 2Spot Studio releases Bloody Bunny as a 7 inch tall vinyl figure. The only other figure I'd seen was last year's Bunny "in mid-motion", so this will be interesting.
Hot Toys releases a trio of their "Toy Fairs" exclusives via distributors Action City - featuring 1/6th-scaled versions of their Shadow Predator, Iron Man and Bruce Wayne/Batman from Batman Begins. Click HERE for for my previously posted feature on them. Note that everything will be released on Saturday August 20th and made available on a first come first served basis.
