TOYSREVIL-Contest: A Steampunk Perspective #2 - Illustration
UPDATED: The Contest Dateline has lapsed. We are no longer accepting submissions, thank you!
We've previously held and seen contributions to the first cycle of Steampunk-themed TOYS. Now the second cycle of A Steampunk Perspective blog-contest focuses on ILLUSTRATIONS! Submit your 2D-drawings based on the theme STEAMPUNK and stand a chance to win a series of blank DIY Art Toys!
There is no quantity restrictions on the number of entries, and format could either be landscape or portrait format, in both color and black-and-white. The only explicit contest-caveat is that this illustration is to be done no longer more than 3 months prior to the time of this contest launch, and is not to have been published or exhibited in any way shape or form in public!
Two main categories will be voted in this cycle: BEST PORTRAIT and BEST SCENE. Yes, this will be a Public Voted contest, and there will be no judges this cycle. Each submission accepted into the contest will be featured on this blog, and readers will have a chance to vote for these entries! (One vote per person / email account / household tho).

WHAT IS "STEAMPUNK"?
'Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction, fantasy, alternate history, and speculative fiction that came into prominence during the 1980s and early 1990s.[1] Steampunk involves a setting where steam power is still widely used—usually Victorian era Britain or "Wild West"-era United States—that incorporates elements of either science fiction or fantasy. Works of steampunk often feature anachronistic technology, or futuristic innovations as Victorians might have envisioned them, based on a Victorian perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, and art. This technology includes such fictional machines as those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne, or the contemporary authors Philip Pullman, Scott Westerfeld and China Mieville.'
