Trailer for "R.I.P.D." (Rest In Peace Department)
I like "high-concept" movies, especially movies adapted from comicbooks - but only if they are the "good ones" - because clearly, not every adaptation is good, but comicbook-adaptations being a "trend", fits my tastes perfectly, and geeks like me can cherry-pick them these days, innit?
In comes actor Ryan Reynolds, who seem to be in a decent number of geek-movies of late - including "Blade: Trinity", "Green Lantern", "Deadpool" in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and so forth, so much so he could make a career out of it LOL … let's just hope this screen incarnation would be one of the "good" films to come, and that he'll excel in it … as for "Geekdom" stature, I feel there needs to be one step beyond just "portraying" a character - as said portrayed-character needs to be made an "action figure" or toy somehow, to elevate to the next level of infamy, IMHO … heh.
Not too hugely imaginative a movie poster, sadly … "R.I.P.D." premieres July 19th in the USA.
