Triclops Studio: Q&A + Seen @ ToyConUK 2013
With a banner at the recently concluded ToyConUK "cuss+screaming" at you, one could hardly ignore Triclops Studios' table, innit? *BRILLIANT* - Debuting an entire line of figurines - including THAT figure collab with Skinner - of which some might be made available for purchase online (pssst: Stay tuned to BlogCops for further updates on the "Where" and "When"), and scroll down to read my Q&A with Luc n Rob Clops!
TOYSREVIL: How was the ToyCon for you? Was it what you expected it to be? Was this your first Con? (Yes, I am being an idiot for asking what I already know the answer to MUAHAHAHAHA)
TRICLOPS: This was our first ToyCon UK (like everyone else!) but we have previously attended SDCC a few times where we were honoured to guest on Onell Design's booth as part of the Global Figure Symposium so we kinda knew the basics. It was really great to see all of our friends from the UK scene and several new ones all under one roof. The organizers had chosen a great venue and we had a wicked time.
We contributed to what was hopefully an informative panel discussion on Toy Production and we heard good things about the Custom panel which happened earlier in the day.
TOYSREVIL: Tell us what you had on your table! And which of your items had the warmest reception / best response?
TRICLOPS: We cranked a batch of new B.A.S.T.A.R.D resin figures for the show. These included BeetleMan, DinoSore, Man@Legs, Space Raider, Fag End, Weeman Syndrome, Gobglin, PussTule, SiClops and Driller Killer.
Also up for grabs were painted specials of some of our previous releases. Plus we had vinyl Peenut figs and the exclusive reveal of the Bullet Belt in prototyped Black and Pink colourways and new plastic mini-B.A.S.T.A.R.Ds in grape and custard colourways (Goober and Big B.A.S.T.A.R.D).
Everything got a great response from the punters!
TOYSREVIL: Any suggestions to make the event even more awesome in the future?
TRICLOPS: Bigger and better! Not sure really, it was an amazing effort for a first attempt. The only issue we witnessed was with ticketing but we're guessing that it's a real positive if there were more people who wanted to get in than could do!

New figure named "Bullet Belt" debut at ToyConUK = a collab piece with Skinner (as part of the B.A.S.T.A.R.D. Universe line with Triclops and Unbox Industries) - with loads of folks online naming incorrectly "Elephant Graveyard" (me included ~ *hides under cyber-rock*), for which "the original inspiration came from the Mammoth character from the M.U.S.C.L.E line which Skinner has reinterpreted".
