Games and Politics @ KULT Gallery (Jan 12 - Feb 12)

WHAT-IS: "An interactive exhibition of the Goethe-Institut Singapore in cooperation with the ZKM | Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe. The exhibition in Singapore is presented by the Goethe-Institut and kult Gallery. Games and Politics has toured in countries around the world including the United States, Philippines and Indonesia.

Expect to play digital computer games that deal with socially-relevant topics like war, gender, migration, democracy and surveillance. Along with artworks and films on view, the exhibition encourages play and calls upon the audience to question the position of games in society today."

KULT SAYS: "2017 has been a year that has seen many conversations about serious global issues such as war, migration and homosexuality. This interactive exhibition couldn't come at a better time - it is a reflection of the zeitgeist, addressing hot-button topics through the unlikely medium that is digital computer games.

If one of your 2018 resolutions is to have a greater awareness about the world and its affairs, Games and Politics offers an accessible (and fun!) platform to manoeuvre through the spectrum."
