#toynews: EXQUISITE CORPSE DUNNY Reveals for Grimsheep, Chauskoskis & Sergio Mancini!
Catching-up with my Exquisite Corpse Dunny Series reveals, in anticipation of February 7th Friday drop (at 10am MT) on Kidrobot.com and select retailers, today we feature a quartet of designs from a trio of artists!
ANUBIS by Owen DeWitt AKA Grimsheep (2/24 Odds) features an Egyptian-inspired character design, along with his pretty-much aesthetic-signature of what I personally call "mobster-cowboy-chic"!
"As it happens, this design almost never came to be. I had my submissions ready to go but at the last minute was inspired to do one last one. Whereas the others were more literal in regards to the the theme, this one was a little different. I find Egyptian mythology fascinating, and while I knew Anubis was the god of death, it wasn't until I did a little research that I found he is also the god of embalming. Seeing as he is actually responsible for exquisite corpses, I thought he would be fitting. Plus, Egyptian gods look cool!" (Insta @grimsheep)
SEPPUKU by Mexico-based artist Chauskoskis (2/24 Odds) sees the return of his unique aesthetics to the toy-scene with this production Dunny (after a devastating personal family tragedy), along with a yummy video demo of the magnetic aspect of this series!
"The concept of the series is so unique, we were thrilled that KR accepted this concept, "Exquisite Corpses" So much we could make with this, I made a bunch of different concepts, some more graphic than others, some more literal than others but in the end I went with the "Seppuku".
I been always fascinated by the Samurai and particularly this ceremony which is about honor. A dunny with a detachable head and torso? cmon! get your Tantō ready and chop chop chop." (Insta @chauskoskis).
A Double Reveal from Brazil based artist Sergio Mancini of Red Mutuca, with the above-featured PR. LOUIS CYPHER (3/48 Odds), the below showcased "Super Chase" Dunny CARD. BEN Z. BULL (1/96 Odds). @sergiomancini is as well one of the curators for this project, alongside @igorventura and Nick Curtis of @coartmag.
