NEWJEANS as Pop!-Vinyls from Funko
"New Jeans Toys" manifested as Plush in 2024, borne of a collaboration with PowerPuff Girls and Takashi Murakami, which provided an opportunity for fans/Tokkis to collect their fav girl group as tangible 3-dimensional collectible(s). But what's next?
As the girls themselves are currently exorcized from their former agency ADOR, and has actively stopped using the name "NewJeans" too ... today we dip our toes briefly into what toys happened before and will happen next...
"Excitement" brewed from the above renders from @zimzalabitches, which featured members of NewJeans as Pop!-Vinyls from Funko, based off their PowerPuff Girls and individual colors ... and as well we've seen custom one-offs, like this "OMG Hanni"-make by @ginorobertocustoms...
Now poised for a production release from Funko are a line-up of licensed POP!-Vinyls (Images featured below via @FunkoPOPsNews), designed/themed after their PowerPuff Girls collabo for their "SuperNatural" debut in Japan. "Funko Pop! Rocks: NewJeans" currently listed here for US$12.99 each (Releasing "March 11, 2025").
It is no secret if any of the $$$ will go to their girls themselves (since leaving ADOR), which is a pity for Tokkis out to collect their favs. It'll be even more adorable tho if these were also available as Bitty Pop!-sized charms (Approx 0.9-inches tall / about a fourth of the size of a standard Pop! Vinyl, sized between 4 to 5 inches tall)...!
It has been a wonder if bootleggers will replicate the series.... But if "they" did, they would have done charms of their PowerPuff Girls crossover icons, innit? Even if it was (rubber-made) "keychain charms"...? NO, I am not "promoting" bootlegging, but neither am I going to put on blinders to their existence LOL
