SCARLET SQUAD (Toy Throwback)
#THROWBACK: (Re)looking at my recently reposted customs, I recognise my red+black colour-scheme used, which mirrored not just the TOYSREVIL blog-logo, but of a long-standing 1/6 series I had been working on since my hobby-days over 2 decades ago: "SCARLET SQUAD"!
Essentially a collection of male, female and alien fictional characters I would created that were recruited to be apart of a resistance to evil inter-galactic force (*aren't they always? :p).
They were themed after "Captain Scarlet", wearing actual tailored vests off it's collectible figures (which I scoured Ebay for, back in the day), and as well inspired by the numerous fictional stories of a mish-mash of characters forming a combat collective, chief of which was "Force Nomad" in Epic Comics' "Alien Legion", which popped up unto my radar none too long ago, and one of the genesis of this blog-throwback, actually!
Consisting of kitbashed and (slightly) customised 1/6-scaled characters, their toy-genesis begun from being apart of the 2007 OSW Sci-Fi Group Bash, with both "PRIEST" and "RAVEN" being the first characters completed and posted!
There actually a few more members still incomplete though (the team currently stands 8-member strong), as I've not returned to finish their kitbashes from nearly 20 years ago...!
But since then, I had delved into "designer/art toys" and done some custom one-offs specifically in that colorway, thereby constituting the (non-bipedal) "alien" aspect of the squad! Moving forward, if ever there is an opportunity (*And I really want to proceed besides, but for simple lack of space and consequence), I will continue to "recruit" for the Squad!
