star wars toys
being a "expenditure-tighta$$" has paid off in a good way - managed to snag a "pre-loved" StarWars 3: Revenge Of The Sith from ye neighbourhood VideoEZY for SGD$14.90 (*whoohoo*), something which i've been hankering for the longest while (yes, im a cheapskate too *bah*).
time hasn't been on my side this past week/ few days and whatever indulgence i had planned for viewing this movie again will haveta be waylaid til the coming Chinese New Year holidays soon (maybe) ... and so while i await with furrowed-brows and twitched-hands, here a look at "some" of the "legacy" left behind by George Lucas (ie: "toys", lah!), both "new" and "old":
toy-customizers let-rip with their creativity unto vinyl-versions/depictions of the beloved-SW-characters, each with their own lil-spin(and maybe one day i'll get off me arse and do me own shitte) and the toy'net is enriched and rejuvinated once hence:
(from left-right) phuEk's Jango PhuEk / Rebelscum Alliance: PhuEk's Boba Phuek and Liv3r's Scouted Clone [via toydigger] / Kenn Munks' "mad*l-bikerscout"
from Medicom comes: Star Wars Kubrick Series 6 Kubricks and a 400% Wicket Be@rbrick! [via Ningyoushi] - ya can't go wrong wif "cute", can ya? *heh*
and also from Medicom comes these (recently released) 1/6th "old skool" fan-loved-figures: the (finally decently proportioned) Stormtrooper and Darth Vader
and coming out strong from sideshowtoys is their stunning line of The Order Of The Jedi 12-inch action figures!
(from left-right) Kit Fisto / Obi-Wan Kenobi / Anakin Skywalker / Luke Skywalker!
am supremely glad sideshow managed to get the license for SW and they be known for their detailed headsculpts and respect for their subject matter ... altho "accessories" haven't been their strong suit before, but now? *swoon*
and i was left speechless when i laid my eyes on this next commodity:
Korean scultor/customizer - Vancei, with his Anakin found on ebay and on 0709's blog , with detailed pics of headsculpt, hands and even a lightedup lightsabre! dude's giving Kojun a run for his money, eh?darn those Koreans *envy*
and for R2D2-lovers, there's Astromechs! [via WWSSS - thanks Ah9!] ... also check out the Astromechs Gallery, for the lowdown on the various droids (and their personalities) in the SW-universe ... til the day when ya can afford a life-sized replica of R2D2, innit? *heh*
have i missed out any more SW-toys/customs?
