michael lau's blackbodywhitebone
:: TOYS ::
it was just recently where i had spoken to a fellow vinyl-head, about Michael Lau's "fall from grace" - about his recent lack of "panache", that spark of brilliance that had pulsated from him prior but had since dissipated from his recent offerings ... and then i found this :
and all the talk and impressions slid down thee subconscious as the sun begins to shine beyond thy vinyl-horizons, with the "birth" of BlackBodyWhiteBone! (even if the image shown is a "sample" :p) ~ there would be 2 versions, one available at Michael's own gallery (drats) and another together with Garden Toyz Book (lovin' the cover-design, btw!). the jacket is supposidly fabric and removable (as seen from the image from conceptshop.hk), as does the "hair-piece" *L0L*
the sketches above and more info and images @CrazyToyz forums
the last ML vinyls i've ever bought were in '04 with the then "newly released" CrazySmiles/Gardener figs (Square, Miss, YoungMiss, Box C, Lazy XXX, Young Square) from his SIX-gallery in HongKong ... and even then, i'd prefer them becoz they were in the vein of Crazy Children / Tattoo / Brian et al, rather than the lacklustre ABC-series (*gack*) ... and i'd admit i had all but given-up hope for the once-brilliant designer ... im glad he's proving me wrong, for now ... :) *heh*
