about that illuminative edition seamour sheep usb-lamp from crazy label

evolving beyond the urban vinyl/toy arena is the upcoming adaptation by Crazy Label of the Seamour Sheep figure [tagged] into a household / lifestyle USB-Lamp! ... i spoke to both Seamour-creator; Metin Seven and Crazy Label-head-honcho; Andy Woo about the upcoming Illuminative Edition Seamour Sheep USB-Lamp ...

TOYSREVIL: what could you tell me about the SeamourSheep USB-Lamp, Andy?

ANDY WOO: This is the upcoming release of Seamour Sheep called "Illuminative Edition". It is powered by USB and illuminated by power efficient, low temperature, long service life LEDs.

TRE: do pardon my ignorance, but how does it work/operate?

ANDY: It is dead simple. There is a standard mini USB socket in the butt of Seamour, to turn on the LEDs, just plug in the bundled USB cable and connect the other end to either the USB port of a PC/Mac or USB A/C power adapter i.e. iPod's.

TRE: butt-of-course! (heh) what was the most difficult aspect of making the Seamour-lamp?

ANDY: The selection of the right LEDs. It took us a few turnarounds to find the perfect one.

TRE: from the images it's looking awesome thus far! - Metin, i remember seeing your 3D-rendering of USB-Lamp Seamour a long while back, how does it feel to have him made into a real lamp?

METIN SEVEN: In one word: magical! I remember being very fond of a nightlamp I had on my bedside table when I was a little kid. It was a soft plastic lamp in the shape of a well-known Dutch character in those days: "Paulus de Boskabouter" (translated: Paul the Forest-dwarf). I couldn't sleep without that lamp, and I even remember the pleasant scent of the soft plastic (which was probably some heavy chemical type of plastic that is prohibited today, haha).

TRE: breathing-in-plastic-fumes! LOL ... how did the USB-Lamp come about, Metin? what made you think of converting Seamour to a lamp?

METIN: The credit for that idea goes to Crazy Label's main man: Andy Woo. He is loaded with good ideas. I didn't even know that vinyl transmits light. :-) I keep on learning interesting new things about the world of designer toys.

TRE: you da man, Andy! LOL - is it the same size as the regular Seamour-vinyl? and is there a production limit run / quantity?

ANDY: Same size as the regular Seamour. And yes, the production quantity is less than 1000.

TRE: when is it scheduled to drop?

ANDY WOO: We hope to get it out by X'mas.

TRE: looking forward to it, Andy! (and by-gawds it'll look great in my film-sets LOL) ... Metin, will we be seeing Marty Mole as a lamp too? or even as a USB-Memory-Stick? ;p

METIN SEVEN: Hahahaha! I like the memory stick idea, but that would require a smaller mold and subsequent new production of the Marty vinyl figure.

TOYSREVIL: well, i reckon Marty would make an uber-cute night-light, IMHO :) ... cheers for your time and trouble, Metin and Andy - man, im waiting for what else you folks are gonna cook up in time to come!
