JOKER_ACTION_FIGURE

peeped this offa Azrael's blog, with reference to a Joker-head-shot image last seen on the cover of Action Figure Digest (featuring Sideshow's Indiana Jones) ... meanwhile, Ledger's family had apparently given Mattel their blessings to include the character in their "range of figures to coincide with the film's release" /// CLICK HERE FOR MORE DARK KNIGHT TOYS

"An action figure depicting Heath Ledger in the role of The Joker is to go on sale.

The 28-year-old had just finished shooting Batman movie The Dark Knight when he died of an overdose of prescription drugs on January 22.

His family has given its blessing for the character to be included in a range of figures from toy company Mattel to coincide with the film's release.

A Joker armed with a rocket launcher and another with a knife will be available from May.

A spokesman for Ledger's relatives said: "Heath was very proud of his work in the film and his family is aware and supportive of the plans for the movie."

meanwhile, Comingsoon.net has a selection of Batman / Dark Knight movie carded-toys HERE as seen from the New York ToyFair just - including what i had thought to be an "possible villain movie-appearance" of FIREFLY - which turned out to be just an insert into the collection, along with Deathstroke (as reported by Wizard) ... and maybe hopefully soon we'll gt tto see Two-Face's action figure - thereby giving away the design, but still mayhap tis time to take the focus away from Heath Ledger's Joker and consider other characters? don't really want to be pushing the boundaries of "good taste", IMHO ...

"The Dark Knight’s world is getting a little more dangerous. Although he already has to fight the Joker and Two-Face in his new live-action film, Mattel has added movie-style versions of Deathstroke the Terminator and Firefly to their 5-inch Batman line. Two-Face has not been revealed yet, but he will definitely be getting a figure in the 6-inch, Four Horsemen-sculpted line. Also in that line—the Joker and a black-faced, angry Batman, seemingly inspired by the Scarecrow’s demonic hallucination in the first movie." [via]

... not too sure about the "Demon-Bat"-figure tho, dude looks like a vaudville-act - what's with the lips? having said that, the hallucination-Bat was one of the best imagery in Batman Begins (IMHO) and would make a pretty darn kickass 1/6th-custom/bash when someone gets down to it (i don't dare claim i'll do it until the day when i actually find time to ... heh)

UPDATE: added slideshow from NYTF'08:

(i know not the origins of the images - do drop links in comments, thanks!)
