CHAOS MONKEY is the first vinyl toy created by French illustrator BUNKA, and is the second release on the French label ARTOYZ ORIGINALS created by ARTOYZ [tagged]. Chaos Monkey will be officially released on Tuesday 11th September 2008 in ARTOYZ PARIS.


Standing 14 cm tall (5.5 inches), the rotocast vinyl Chaos Monkey was modeled by Gregos and is limited to 1000-pcs for this OG-colorway [PEEP other colorway-proposals]. Price undetermined at this time.

As part of the launch festivities (first in ARTOYZ PARIS and then in ARTOYZ LYON for a couple of weeks), Bunka had asked several friends’ illustrators and artists to create a special illustration and a matching custom CHAOS for the event - with artists including: NIARK1, KOA, AISK (drawing shown-right), GREGOS, iLK, CRAIION, DOBERMAN, DOZE, STROM, LEON. Chaos Monkey History and Mythology:

A puzzle for zoologists, this monkey has been seen thru ages on every continent but his origin is still a mystery. Based on scientific analysis, CHAOS MONKEY may be one of the first gene mutations ever.

With large eyeballs, this hungry creature has escaped from his ancestral slammer in order to devour all human beings on this planet. Born with short legs and enormous arms, he’s able to move faster than any other ape without any hope of escape for their casualties. They’ll eventually eat you raw.

From the largeness of his eyes, billions of monkeys are watching us, waiting for a bloody vengeance. Now forever as a vinyl statue, his hypnotic look and his little sharp teeth will keep you scared to death.


About Bunka:

His works has been noticed thru impressive toy customs, pushing the limits of the canvas. It’s not really a surprise that one of his latest creations has been sold during a Christie’s charity sale for Paris Tout Petits in June 2008.

During his latest exhibition WE ARE CHAOS at Artoyz Paris (with Niark1); he showcased a handful of canvasses featuring this sneaky and carnivorous ape.

The vinyl version of CHAOS MONKEY is one of his favourite primates.
