UGLYCON TOKYO opens October 10th 2008 @ STITCH, Daikanyama, Tokyo (Opening party 6pm-9pm) The show will feature plush, paintings, prints, drawings, show exclusive items from Uglydoll-creators David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim, as well as participating artists from Japan providing "Ugly guest star art", with the superstar list including: Gargamel / Dehara / TOUMA / Mori Chack / T9G / Devilrobots / Mad Barbarians / NAO (Wrecks) / Mographixx / Maeda / Buch / Hervest / Tomonari Kawano / Tougou
In addition to the festivities, Uglydoll has collaborated with Gargamel for a Uglycon-exclusive pocket-kaiju dubbed SUPER PUNCHER (a 1994 style super robot monster yokai / CLICK for Origin-story) which will be released during the event on Oct 10th. Stay tuned for product info and images as soon as I find them :p
ORIGIN OF THE SUPER PUNCHER:
Lonely Otaku collected too many used Super Puncher Robot toys. He made weekly
trips to Akihabara and bought at least one used Super Puncher robot toy on each visit! This was unhealthy, so he died.
He came back as Super Puncher Yokai Robot ghost!
Now he can't buy anything.
(Super Puncher is a 1994 style super robot monster yokai).
