about that 3a toy catalog
TOY-CONFESSION: Whenever I used to buy toys when I was but a wee toddler-to-pimpled-tween, I most times will keep the catalogs or promo-leaflets that comes along with the toys. Especially those which showcases their entire range of products, or even previews upcoming goodies. Most memorable and vivid impression was made by Playmobil - where mini-sized booklets filled cover-to-cover with pictures of toys, a subliminal nudge of aspiration to covert the entire series, imprinted unto a young innocent boy's mind, and in many ways, is still "innocent" (or perhaps "naive"?) decades later (*cough*).

And with the passing of time, boxes of catalogs have disappeared (wish I made a scrapbook tho), but the memory linger still. People don't do much "catalogs" these days, well, except for the "bigboys". Now, at the most you get is a single printed card (double-sided print) in a box - Medicom Toys' BE@RBRICKS comes into mind. (Yes, of coz I know it's about "cost").
All this is just an extendedexcuse prelude for me to fawn over the 3A TOY CATALOG that will come with Ashley Wood x 3A Toy's BRAMBLE Deep Powder Edition (available @ Bambalandstore.com / tagged) as previewed on Bambablog.
To Ash: It ain't the thickness of the catalog, but the quality contained within, that truly counts, IMHO.
To Ash-fans: Anyone else notice the TOMORROW KING-ad with a dislodged flying robot-head? (peep-left) *Scherweeet!*

I was the same with catalogues, keeping each unique catalogue (where the lines increased or changed) just to make sure I could at least look at the figures :P
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that they've referred to it as a catalogue, when what it actually shows is a history of ThreeA - you can't order Berties on BBS, and both the Nom and Noir releases were pretty tiny runs so unlikely to be available.
Not that I won't mind getting one with a figure :P
Can't wait for this. Finally got my Les Mort on Tuesday (Awesome figure, BTW). I remember catalogs when I was young too - like the ones that would come with Transformers. I would always look through them 100's of times wishing for all of them to belong to me. I'm still that way, but Ash's catalog is going to to rock!
ReplyDeleteWho didn't keep all there catalogs and blister pack backs.lol
ReplyDeleteAs for Ashleys BDP, its going to be a sick piece and the first at bat!
I can't wait to get him in my hands.
Its great Ash & 3A is doing this catalog to go with the Deep Powder, the extra is always loved by there fans...
TK I feel is going to be another awesome figure that I am keeping my eyes on.:) I hope it comes with a cut off RoBoT head or Zombie head! :p
Keep them coming Ash & 3A and Keep on posting the goodness on them TRE!!
Rock On!!
DragonDavy1
curious about TK shown as cat#10004.
ReplyDeleteBecause I am not the 1/6th lover I used to be, as a pre-adolescent, I won't try as hard to get it, as I will with the robots...
It's the severed robot head though, I guess.
a perfect 1/6th replica of Ashes Lady Sham or another Ashley Wood babe would probably ameliorate my lingering feelings about these 3A 12" figures in a positive way, though.
@Kev > whatever they are called, i like'em and want'em! LOL ... and this is pure speculation on my part, but perhaps not all the pages of the "catalog" was shown, yeh? (hoping that there be sneaks of upcoming products inside LOL)
ReplyDelete@ezramyl > congrats on your Les Mort-score!
@dragondavy > apparantly there are folks who throw away everything else besides the actual toy LOL
and extras are always welcomed, and personally speaking, in this day and age, extras go a long way, IMHO.
re: TK - we've been speculating for a while on TRE and ima betting it'll be a severed robot head, ala the comicbook/s :)
@gar > too bad you can't share our enthusiasum. to each his own, of coz. and yes, robot/mechas rawk.
