Toysrevil's DIY Dunny Box Surprise (Valentine's Present)
Let's face it, if you haven't gotten your Valentines' Day prezzie by now, you're pretty much screwed and not gonna get any in a spot of trouble. And what do you get, that doesn't scream "Last-Minute-Grab" or "Anyhow-Make-Do-With-Anything-That-Smells-Nice"? Nothing like a boutique/shop/retailer-wrapped basket of soap/hand-cream/bath-bubbles to show your insincerity hastiness, and a Valentine's card alone is just not enough. For sure there are always flowers and roses - complete with inflated prices - to help you thru the day/evening ... but what else CAN you do, with the sun setting down in a few hours time (Singapore -time anyways :p).
TOYSREVIL is here to offer y'all a simple solution, specifically for Dunny-collectors with spares! Just make sure you haven't thrown away your empty blind-boxes and you have a duplicate-Dunny to use! Get ready a pencil and ruler, scissors and some glue or sticky tape / double-side tape, as well as a boxa pens or coloring pencils (for easy no-messy doodling), and HERE WE GO!
This is my Valentine's "gift" to YOU, dear TRE-readers! :)
**TIP: Remember to use a pencil for markings, so you can rub it off laters!
BUT if you want to make the lines more obvious (for a stylized-DIY-feel) -
use thicker marker pens or even colored markers or pencils**
**TIP: Generally a 1 centimeters' length/height would be sufficient**
**TIP: Double-sided tape would be best, if not glue works just as well -
just remember the blind-box is made of slightly thicker cardboard,
so make sure the glue is sticky-strong enough!**
**TIP: Marking is based on the base of the ears (closest to the head)
and not the tip of the ears - becoz that's where the cut-holes will sit**
**TIP#1: A rough cut with uneven edges is fine, as the ears are
supposed to look to have "burst thru" the blind-box**
**TIP#2: And don't throw away the spare cut-out bits just yet!**
WHY-THIS-WORKS: Although it may look rough and not totally polished (dependent on your drawing "skills") - it is something that you (had) made yourself, and is characteristic of you and who you are, and what you both share is reflected in the writing / illustration / doodles on the box. Effort + Personality = Sincerity (IMHO). And it is something that cannot be bought in any stores. (Your work, not the Dunny! LOL) = A One-Of-A-Kind Present :)
**TIP: Generally the cardboard absorbs and darkens lighter colored markers, so the colors you intend to use, may not come out the tone you want. Try them out on the cut-out used bits of the box that I'd asked you not to throw away! Color-pencils work better on the cardboard and the colors will retain it's tone.
Here are some cheesy-worded Suggestions for you!
SUGGESTION#1: Will get you a giggle and a smile. And maybe even a kiss.
SUGGESTION#2: Will get you a raised eyebrow and a smirk.
No kiss tho, but you didn't want one anyways... hmph.
SUGGESTION#3: An expression of "aaaAAWWWwww" followed by a hug.
Anything else after that, it's on YOU dudes and dudettes! (*Uni-Sex Present*)
