Fourth Wish's Aisling Resin Figure by Andrew Wilson

AISLING-FOURTHWISH

Peep the above unpainted pre-mold version of AISLING - a character created by Andrew Wilson [blog] for his "Forgotten Kingdom of Imaginary Friends" book ~ which is set to also become his first resin figure, with a tentative San Diego Comic Con-release. Limited to 100 figures - the current price is hovering around US$75 (TBC / final price will be determined by cost of the glass and shipping) and will include a postcard and a copy of Andrew's Imaginary Kingdom book (which can be purchased here separately if you so wish). TRE had an opportunity to catch up with Andrew for a quickie-Q&A about his character and her genesis. CLICK THRU for a read and for a closer-look at Aisling :)

TOYSREVIL: Who is the lil lady within the dome? Who is she in your story?

ANDREW WILSON: The character is Aisling. She's a half angel, half devil girl who is pictured in my Forgotten Kingdoms book. You see, she sits outside of the pandoras box which may have something good or something very bad inside. She's got a key with a book, crown, heart, and wings on it which she uses to open the box. The box is symbolic of imagination, which whether she turns the key to the left or to the right, she will expose a good or bad thing.

Aisling is the Irish girl's name for dream or dream poem. So it's like she herself is a gateway from a dream to the imagination - and what goodness or evil can come from within.

TOYSREVIL: Aaaaah what price to be paid for a "Fourth Wish", yeh? I'd thought the large object next to her was a hammer (in my first email to you :p) but now the "key" makes so much sense - would it happen to have a specific name? (I'm still thinking "Hammer", like "Mjölner" lol)

ANDREW WILSON: I haven't named the key, which you mentioned as a hammer, but I should probably come up with something. (^__^)

TOYSREVIL: Am going to be bugging you for developments and updates about Aisling, dude! How big is the figure bytheway (with and without dome)? And are you producing the figure yourself?

ANDREW WILSON: The figure is about 6 inches inside the dome, and on the base is a little over 7 inches. I am producing the figure myself with a company called Gensen, who I have worked with to sculpt the model through turnaround paintings.

TOYSREVIL: Noice! Personally I'm very impressed with the sculpt, the amount of fine detail is pretty refreshing - specifically the fingers, the details on the key and the lock on the pandora's box (I'm a simple man with simple needs :p). So will the colors match her appearance in your book?

ANDREW WILSON: The final colors will be very close to the colors in the book although they may not be exact - I will try my best to hit that mark. :0)

TOYSREVIL: Looking forward to the final product ~ and developments along the way, Andrew! Do keep us updated! :)
