1/6 Plastic-Crack-Addicts Feature: BHead-inspired "Librarian" by Casvel
We used to call folks addicted to the 1/6th-hobby as likened to addicted to "Plastic Crack" ("Crack" being a drug, with "Plastic" being the material make of our beloved man-dollies - which we never claim to be "dolls"). I have since found a group of select "Plastic Crack Addicts", and would like to present their collections to all to share.
Today's PCA-member is tag-named "Casvel" - featuring his LIBRARIAN kitbashed 1/6-figure - which is his homage to Korean BHEAD (more on him on this blog sooner than you think ;p) - and hell, it is an indeed splendidly-intense work, IMHO! From here on in, all words belong to Casvel…
ADDICT'S-DISCLAIMERR: I need to start off by saying that this is not an original design. I feel it's not really worthy to be on the blog. Haha, but nonetheless..
ADDICTION-HISTORY: Like many people, I fell in love with Bhead's work a couple of years ago after seeing some of his customs. Since there was no sign of him mass producing them (even if he does, i wouldn't be able to afford it), i decided to "replicate" one of his works. So, up till now i have yet to share it with the online community becoz its not an original design. U know the feeling where u really needed that particular figure, after making u jizz your pants from staring at the pictures. Haha.
FIGURE-BREAKDOWN: As for the parts breakdown, i'm not very sure which parts i used (loose 1/6 items in CSC flea doesn't have labels =) ), i just buy whatever i feel might work. These are what i found out/remember:
Head wear - BBI WW2 British Pilot
Jacket - Hot Toys John Conner
Trousers - TOY SOLDIER WWII US 101st Abn
Lower Leggings - Ignite Kinght Templar Marshal
Weapon - Twisting Toyz BREDA
Flash Grenade - Hot toys Blade
Bag Pack - DID German bagpack
Shoe - Superstars adidas
CUSTOM-ADDICTION (aka "Parts You Customized"): Gas tank - electronic capacitor, cable ties, bits and pieces from tamiya car parts, toy car steering wheel, chains and some wires.
Some little mods here and there for most of the parts. I've even weathered the socks! Lol.. Oh and there's an (unused) earphone plug on one of them eyes. Tamiya spray cans and pastel chalks for painting and weathering.
TOY-STORY: He collects books, rather than burning them away for heat and fire, as he believes books can help in rebuilding a world they once knew. A reminder from the past. So he is referred as the "Librarian".
WHO-POISONED-YOU-WHO-DID-YOU-POISON: Surfing too much of onesixthwarriors and sideshow forums. Currently, I have 2 more wip figures.
CURRENT ADDICTION: 1/6 figures, majority from Hot toys while inching towards 3A figures now.. Dayum…
