Star Wars Variant Play Arts Kai from SQUARE ENIX

Now this post is a long time coming, and while it is not specifically "art toy" (like WHEN has that ever stopped this blog? MUAHAAHAHAAAAAA), these NEED to be seen and acknowledged!

I don't know why it took so long but finally someone went and pumped up the style steroids for a trio of Star Wars characters, and the result looks utterly amazeballs! Witness SQUARE ENIX's Star Wars Variant Play Arts Kai Boba Fett and Storm Trooper (if you have not already the past week) - I think the pics of the products speak for themselves, ladies and gentlemen!



Essentially 26cm / 11-inches tall, these articulated PVC figures pack the punch of style-make-over that ties in splendidly for that "Alternative Universe" look that ties in with the DARTH VADER figure announced earlier (with pics reproduced here for easy eye-candy-gawking :p). Fueled with an obvious "anime" vibe, reminiscent of Jo Jo's Bizzare Adventures too (excluding the huge shoulder pads ;p … LOVE THESE WANT THESE OMGOMGOMG … SRP is around US$100+ per, with both Boba and Stormie scheduled for a July drop, while Darth has a May drop date. SQUARE ENIX has been steadily producing the awesomeness of epic re-designs / re-envisions / re-mixed versions of popular comicbook and pop-culture media characters via their Variant Play Arts Kai, including Batman, Iron Man, and they are nigh-desired, I have to admit :)
