WHAT-IS: "TOYS AS ART, ART INSPIRED BY TOYS: MATTEL'S 80TH ANNIVERSARY GROUP EXHIBITION" is a group gallery show celebrating Mattel's 80th Anniversary, with 80 invited artists interpreting assorted Mattel toy licenses, including Barbie, He-Man (from Masters of the Universe), Polly Pocket and more! I've had a blast of a time showcasing artwork on this blog (searching thru each artists' Instas was a challenge lol), reminding me of a time where we get to witness a large line-up of artists interpreting pop-culture nostalgia, at least in my memory. Click thru for linked features:

Instead of a master-blog post featuring all IG-embeds of the artwork, I decided to split them up into "6 parts", in an attempt not to burden the front page of the blog, but alas I failed LOL - But nevertheless I'll insist on the embeds, because (A) Some of the artists share their "connection" to the subject matter, and (B) there are plenty of WIP/work-in-progress videos = both instances are very welcomed on TOYSREVIL, as it provides a depth to the final aesthetics, a sense of "history" as it were, and something exceedingly "missing" in this lightning-fast-paced-world, IMHO. And (C) the images+videos are linked back directly to the artists, which to me is as important these days of randomly-uploaded imagery on socials with little to no credits @.@"
