Be it "Super Sentai" or "Tokusatsu", the notion of transforming super heroes is infamous worldwide, devoured in multiple variations and generations - from "Power Rangers" to "Kamen Rider" - enough for folks to parody/meme it (Gotta enjoy the BLACKPINK X PR crossover seen above lol), and for brands to utilise the concept for hawking promoting their wares, including the latest grub from Kentucky Fried Chicken Singapore...!





And while above examples are Ai-made, there's a live-action TVC now, essentially for cosmetics from Kao, coupled with a dedicated website AND a 10-minuter short! This is "HENSHIN THE FIRST" collaboration for LIP MOSTER × KAMEN RIDER...!



"HENSHIN THE FIRST" depicts the birth of a female-Rider "Kamen Rider Ains" from a unique perspective.

FUN TRIVIA: The actress Tensho Amane is the 2nd daughter of Fujioka Hiroshi ("Kamen Rider 1/Hongo Takeshi")!





WHAT-IS: "Henshin!" (変身) is the Japanese word for "transformation/transform" meaning "to change or transform the body" or "equip". In the Kamen Rider Series, it is a common transformation call for what a Rider shouts when they are about to transform.

This particular blogpost was born of a Kamen Rider-tribute post (still sorting it out), but triggered by "Henshin The First", and I've added Rangers' reference because it's hella fun, innit? :)

Permit me to geek out a little bit more here ... with re-introducing my 1/6th-scaled FEMALE RIDER kitbash (1st posted circa 2006)

The figure wore a 1/6th-scaled DANGER GIRL ABBY suit, plus a Rider helmet perfectly sized, on a green bike I had (I used to rigorously collect 1/6th-scaled motorcycles OMG) ... those where the days :)
