Buying Yukihiro Tada's Toy & Comic (at #IAF26)
Featuring previews of products pre-event is not just "content" for this blog, but also gives me a headsup to what is available that I should look out for, and in this instance, Japanese illustrator/Cartoonist Yukihiro Tada's soft vinyl finger puppet would have easily escaped my radar - and I so do enjoy my "toy-discoveries"!
"ICE-MOSH" #softvinyl #sofubi finger puppet from @tadayukihiro to debut at #IllustrationArtsFest (3-5 July, 2026)!

Available at the recently concluded Illustration Arts Fest 2026, I'd first come across the piece on the second day of the event, where the crowd gathered at his booth was tremendous. As ever with attempting to cover events I attend (for my blog), I'd not have time to spend queuing up, and need to move on instead, to be able to complete my tasks ... which often means I miss out on stuff I want to buy ~ *sob*
I'd gone back the 3rd and final day, this time with the aim to queue, and managed to snag my piece and have the artist himself doodle on the header too! SCORE!

I find myself gravitating towards "smaller" (sized) figures these days … not just due to "affordability" (#truestory), but also the severe lack of space (*for the time being).
I’ve mentioned to folks before, "all toys are the same size" as far as TOYSREVIL is concerned, as when they are viewed on my laptop browser - whether they are 3-inches or 12-inches tall - they all fill up the browser-page.
The form follows the price point, borne from a story worthy to invest in, not for monetary gain, but for the toyjoy and moment of peace it brings - LOL
…or perhaps after over a decade of blogging about toys, I’d "forgotten" the joys of "size"? (I used to collect 1/6th scale when I started)… no rationale nor explanation needed nor offered here, I just buy what I can afford and like. There really does not need to have any deeper mean to that, I guess, at least for me at this juncture of my toylife LOL
The finger puppet sofubi was priced $60 on Saturday, while had I snagged the last piece for $30 the next day. Perhaps something was lost in translation, but I am glad I'd "waited" instead of impulse buying LOL
As much as I enjoyed his MOSH character made-vinyl, I'd wish there was a TAKO to be had too, to go with the wonderful printed comic I'd gotten! But the doodle on the header was "priceless", and one of the thrills of what makes a convention-purchase fulfilling, IMHO.

Here are some snaps of @tadayukihiro's table at #IllustrationArtsFest 2026, which I couldn't take much of as the crowd was massive! More posted on #TOYSREVIL: https://t.co/9AStMVMV2f, cheers.#YukohiroTada#IAF26#toynews#toysblog pic.twitter.com/Jug4t51kj5
