bye james and hello daisy

:: MOVIES ::
is it bye-bye-Bond and hello Daisy? MI6 (a condensed version here) has a new spy and HER name's Daisy Scarlett.

Kate Beckinsale would've been ace (her "believability" not in question after her action-packed-Underworld-forays), altho Naomi Watts could've knocked our socks off too (gorgeous as she is, altho trying to imagine her face all serious and puffed-up to kill someone - might not be as fetching) ... in the running is also Natasha Henstridge (Species) - anybody remembers She-Spies? or even Maximum Risk (with Van Damme)? *acks* ... and there's also Sienna Miller and Keira Knightley ... and even Kate Winslet? i mean, she was great in Eternal Sunshine and all that, but as a kick-ass-she-spy? ... but then, to be fair, it depends too on how the character of Daisy is gonna be too ... is she gonna be a cold-killer like Bond was? is she gonna sleep-around and get information and fun, like James? is she psychotic? does she "prefer batting for the home team"? or basically, is she gonna be a re-harshed-James Bond? who knows these things, innit? :p

so who do ya think should BE Daisy Scarlett?

altho the decription of Daisy being; "a woman who looks like an uber-violent real estate agent" - just does NOT conjure up positive-action thoughts for me personally (except maybe for youse hentai-Office-Lady-type fantassies lah :p) ... and frankly speaking, the first british-she-spy that popped into my mind was: Lady Penelope of the Thunderbirds! *snigger* ... but we shall see, innit?

other dudes involved so far: Jason Statham (Transporter 2 - dunno about his girlfriend Kelly Brook being still in the running-list tho) and not to mention Donnie Yen (dude's been mondo-busy on the hollywood-front recently, innit?)

of coz this comes at around the time of the new Bond-flick Casino Royale starring the unexpected Daniel Craig as 007 = WTF were they thinking? i mean, if it's about "continuity" and to show the "maturing" of Bond, then maybe it's plausible, innit? ... then might as well get Sean Connery back into the Aston Martin-seat and give him a technology-ridden-walking stick, to better whack them baddies, innit? ... anyways, Bond-casting-rants aside, mayhap Daisy Scarlett'll be the new way to go, suited for the "new millenium", innit? (just like what "they" thought Matt Damon's Jason Bourne trilogy and even Vin Diesel's XXX was gonna be) ... "girl-power" and all that? just pray that they don't do a "crossover" (Daisy Versus James) eventually at all! (or maybe that'll be too much like Mr & Mrs Smith, innit?) ... or maybe we'll just wait for the Daisy Scarlett movie to be made first before deciding anything, innit? *heh*

"Semper Occultus" means "Always Secret" in Latin and is the motto for the British Secret Intelligence Service. altho having a "brain" as the centre-piece of the logo is a tad disturbing, IMHO of coz ... or maybe i'm "liking" the "occult"-part of the name? rather than going down your usual-route of uber-femme-spy, why not let her dabble a tad in the occult-arts and magiks? *hahahaha* or maybe im thinking too much Doctor Strange Zatanna, but as a spy? (no stockings required, coz tis too tacky) - but of coz this has nothing to do with the movie whatsoever, innit? *HAH* :p
