mindbile moments: similarity breeds contempt

:: WWW ::
a comment left by an anonymous reader (here) led me to Banksy's streetart, specifically of this image (shown insert-right)
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
the comment was: "looks like it might be banksy inspired:" - followed by the link. (insert image-left is mine)

a few thoughts flashed thru my mind (in sequence, no less ;p):
01. anger - at a (possible) insinuation from an absolute stranger that i had copied another's work and that really set me off somewhat fierce. (this is a self-censored-reply, no less)
02. over-reaction - to mayhap an innocent (and heartfelt) comment of one person's opinion ... perhaps maybe ...
03. curious - to find out about "who came first" and if there were indeed other images out there prior to Banksy's and mine.
04. discovery - of this cool website: youthoughtwewouldntnotice.com
05. realization - that i'd not be able to explain myself (neither do i ever need to, IMHO) to every single being out there who (might) already have their opinion about it in the first place.

which got me re-thinking something that had always bugged me silly (and hence this post):

(A) tis not about how creative a person can (or cannot) be/is (not saying i am, mind) - tis about "who came first", tis about how much earlier or "faster" a person can show/share with the world/www and be able to lay claim to it (sometimes not by themselves but by other's opinions) while everyone else is a pale imitation.

(B) consequently, the abovementioned might not even matter one iota, if one is not as "acknowledged" or "famous" as the other in question, innit?

what do you think? feel free to discuss in this post please, thank you :)
