300 comicbook versus movie
no doubt my personal anticipation for the big-screen adaptation of Frank Miller's 300 had (somewhat) reached fever pitch when the awe-inspiring trailers debut online ... and then somewhat languished in near-forgotten obscurity, until in the midst of my room-packing, i managed to "re-discover" the original 5-issue comicbook series from Dark Horse and had only just finished reading it ... and i realized somehow the experience of reading the comicbook (that i was expecting) had been "diluted" quite a bit ... mainly becoz i had unintentionally been looking out for the parallels of the online trailer-sequences and the art within the comic-panels ...
and that does not sit well at all with me am both perturbed and intrigued by the cross-over genres in this age of media-connectivity (or even "cross-pollination") and how it affects each other/one another. for sure a non-comicbook reader might not know any difference between the celluloid and four-colored comicbook page, in the first place, innit? and for folks who do, then it'll be their good fortunes if the movie comes out good, if not faithful (think the divided camps over the Transformers-movie and even Ghost Rider) ... and "too bad", if you can't recognize what is shown before you ... becoz really, at the end of the day, the "mass" outweighs the "fans", dunnit? IMHO :p
nevertheless, here are 9 videoclips from the movie @ movies.go [via] for your drooling-pleasure ... or you can peep "300"-movie-encounters on this blog here :p
