heroes episode one
and so yesterday was the first episode of NBC's HEROES on Star World. after reading about so much hype on the television show, and a near 6-months' wait (first featured here), i finally had a chance to brace my own expectations and excitement and sat thru the longer-than-usual-advertisements and the constant deja-vu vibes with every minute and beat of the show ...
*more after the jump*
"deja-vu" becoz everything reminds themselves of something or other incident and/or situations i've seen before on television, read in newspapers and gushed about over in comic-books ... a lingering sense of "familiarity" and silent "curiosity", on the forgotten edge of "awe", mayhap becoz i do read comic-books and the themes and nature of "ordinary-folks-with-powers" are "mundane" to me .. but then again, i might just be in the minority here, becoz even my Dad's interested to watch the show (do bear in mind his telly-habits are filled with daily programming from China and Taiwan) - asking me yet again today if the show is on weekly! so i reckon someone's doing something right here, innit?
and no, im not thumbing my nose up and anyone here at all, mind ... heck, im just as excited to watch the next episode! the first episode went by in a huff (or maybe tis becoz my expectation was nigh-high :p) and i can hardly comment about anything (characters, storyline etc) beyond the initial personal hoopla - but sure as heck's ima gonna be watching out for HEROES, so stay outta my way folks! *LOL*
and while resisting the urge to trackdown online video-feeds or recordings of the subsequent episodes (*bites fist*), i've found other nifty stuff instead:
the artwork (drawn by precog-painter Issac Mendez) on the show was actually done by comicbook-artist Tim Sale! (wiki) *coolness* and can be found @ 9th Wonders - the Official Unofficial fansite run by the show's creators! Jeph Loeb talks, as do Masi Oka and the sometime-sexy Ali Larter, and show creator Tim Kring gets interviewed by "LOST" show creator, Damon Lindelof! *heh*
